A real phone number, always. ID is optional for now.
Every landlord verifies a real phone number with a text-message code before a listing can go live, no way around it. A landlord can also submit a government-issued photo ID and a selfie for a real person to review by hand, which earns a verified badge, but that step is optional right now while Norlease is growing, not a requirement to publish. No proof of property ownership required either way. Both images are deleted the moment a decision is made, never retained.
Free for everyone, indefinitely.
No landlord fees. No renter account required just to browse. That's not an introductory offer, it's how Norlease is meant to work for as long as it exists.
A real map, real filters, real search.
Browse listings on an interactive map alongside a scrolling list, filter by price, bedrooms, pets, parking, laundry, and whether heat's included, or just search by street name or a word from a listing's own description, forgiving a typo the way your phone's search bar does.
Message a landlord, with a real name attached.
Real-time chat, right on the site, no phone number to exchange first. Before a renter can send a first message, they verify their own phone number and fill in a short profile, so the landlord sees a real name and some context, not a stranger. Share a photo right in the conversation when it helps.
No fake or stale listings.
Listing fraud and long-abandoned posts are unsolved problems on Kijiji and Facebook Marketplace. Every Norlease listing belongs to a phone- and ID-verified landlord, and listings retire automatically after 60 days rather than sitting live indefinitely.
